Features: The Reciprocating Compressor Module will calculate Break Horse Power (BHP), Flow Rate, and Head  for a Reciprocating compressor system. Flow can be entered five different ways, including API, CAGI or ASME standard conditions. A backward Flow Rate or Head calculation is performed if motor power draw data are available. An efficiency calculation of an Adjustable Frequency Drive (ASD) is performed based on a computed motor speed fraction, and the ASD efficiency is updated in the applicable case study. The part load efficiency of certain name plate horse power motors is computed and used in the calculations. Compressor curves, including the surge curve, are plotted under various operating conditions. Adjustments to the system pressure drops, including control valves, are made automatically when the compressor  is operated on its base characteristic curve.  The compressor module is designed using Compressed Air and Gas Handbook, Compressed Air and Gas Institute, Fifth Edition; and Compressed Air and Gas Data, Ingersoll-Rand, Second Edition, USA.
